Although it’s technically not an “action” game, the point is to build up the characters and then play against them – it’s the sort of game where you spend quite a bit of time building up your characters (up to a certain point, anyway), and then playing against opponents – but, the Vindictus has a lot of strategy involved in the game as well. Players can spend a lot of time thinking how their characters will react to a set of circumstances and can even spend a lot of time thinking what their opponent will do based on those circumstances. Most players end up coming out ahead due to some good strategic decision making.
Finally, for fans of games with a Japanese flavor, there’s another all-time favorite called Kaiko Quest. Like Vindictus, it’s not actually part of the Vindictus games, but it features some VN elements, like hidden object scenes, but it also has its own unique “Q” style action theme – which means that fans of the VN games will probably enjoy playing this one a lot more than they’ll enjoy playing Vindictus. In short, it’s a game about using detective skills and exploring the hidden information found within the various scenes. In a way, it plays like a combination of Vindictus and Kaiko Quest. Although it’s different from those two games, it makes a great choice for those who want to play something a bit different from their standard VNs.
If you’re looking for good, new, adult games to play, I recommend checking out Vindictus and Kaiko Quest. Both games use an all-original Japanese VN style engine and are quite popular among VN’s enthusiasts. The developers of these games have put in a lot of time and effort into making them as unique as possible, and the result is a lot of fun for players. If you’re looking for something a bit out of the ordinary when it comes to VNs, these two games are worth giving a shot.
